(PB)²™ = Project-Based, Place-Based Learning
Our (PB)² program is Project-Based-Learning for the 21st century. The (PB)² model does not involve “hit and run” professional development workshops which claim to–in a matter of a few days or a few hours–transform your whole school into a dazzling model of active, engaged learning.
If that’s what you’re looking for, stop reading now.
Okay, you’re still here.
Here’s the truth:
Effective, scalable Project-Based-Learning takes time. It takes commitment, reflection and revision. It involves dynamic school-community collaboration, expertly-curated resources, and ongoing support.
Small Teacher Leader Cohorts, Ongoing Support and Site-based Scalability are the key components to real, “sticky” school wide Project-Based-Learning. These three “pillars” are what make our trademarked (PB)² model the most comprehensive, cost-effective approach available.
We start with the teachers at each school site who are most excited and most ready to jump into the deep end of learning. Our initial Creative Core Conversation includes our (PB)² Cohort Readiness Assessment. This cohort becomes the dynamic “seedling,” planning, designing, sharing and implementing the first round of completely unique (PB)² (place-based, project-based), common-core-aligned curriculum. As the projects scale up, and the cohort grows, the curriculum and mindset become deeply embedded in culture of your school. Teachers transform, students transform, support staff transforms. The campus transforms.
The community transforms.
Our consultants and mentors are some of the most groundbreaking educators, community leaders, growth mindset and design thinking experts, technology innovators and creatives in the world. Through (PB)², we work together to awaken the inherent 21st Century skills: curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration which already exist (and may lie dormant) at every school.
